Earthlight Ice Rink

Challenge:

The site owner needed to maximize power production on a large standing seam metal roof.  The building roof surfaces available for solar oriented in the East West direction at approximately a 7-degree slope.  The project required south facing solar arrays to maximize power production.  The solar EPC Earthlight Technologies contracted Advanced Racking to assist with the solar layout and racking design

Solution:

Working closely with Earthlight to understand the relevant project information of the building such as the structural capacity of the three (3) different roof sections Advanced Racking was able to consider the optimal design for the project.  Once the structural details were understood the two parties collaborated to confirm the psf capacity, proper seam clamp, and module details to finalize the inter-row spacing and tilt angle that provided the best solution.

Result:

Advanced Racking was able to provide the racking design that maximized the solar system kW size while conforming to building requirements.  The quick lead time combined with assembled tilt legs, universal module clamps, and simple connection hardware helped the installer efficiently install the racking, wire mgmt., and solar panels.

Customer’s feedback:

“We've collaborated with Advanced Racking on numerous installations. Their team consistently demonstrates an exceptional eye for detail, and their unwavering commitment ensures the success of every project."
